Licensed electrical contractor serving Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. Built on five years of IBEW Local 212 apprenticeship training, journeyman wireman certification, and a commitment to electrical work that holds up.
Ground Zero Electric was founded by Le'Vante Hinkston in December 2024. The path to founding the company started years earlier.
Le'Vante began a five-year apprenticeship with International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 212 in 2019. The apprenticeship combines on-the-job training across diverse project types (residential, commercial, industrial, institutional) with classroom instruction in code, theory, math, motor controls, and specialty installations. Thousands of hours on commercial job sites alongside experienced journeymen and contractors.
In 2023, Le'Vante earned Kentucky journeyman electrician licensure by passing the state exam, ahead of when the apprenticeship required it. In April 2024, the IBEW journeyman wireman card followed at the completion of the apprenticeship.
After completing the apprenticeship, Le'Vante took the next year to plan, save, and prepare. Ground Zero Electric LLC was formed in December 2024. Full-time operations began in May 2025.
The name has three meanings, layered intentionally:
Grounding is foundational to electrical safety. Every circuit, every panel, every system depends on proper grounding to keep people and property safe. The name reflects a commitment to doing electrical work right at the most fundamental level.
Ground zero is where you start when you're building something new. No inherited customer base, no acquired business, no shortcuts to credibility. Every customer is earned. Every project is a chance to prove the work is worth coming back to.
A contractor who gets too comfortable, too proud, or too removed from the work loses touch with the customers and craft that built the business. Ground Zero Electric stays grounded. Communication direct, work transparent, accountability clear.
To provide quality work that will last a lifetime.
Electrical work isn't a place to cut corners. The wiring you install today should still be safe, code-compliant, and reliable decades from now. The panel you replace should serve the next generation living in the home. The EV charger or battery system you install should perform through years of daily use without question.
To not just power buildings, but peace of mind.
Electrical work isn't really about wires and panels and breakers. It's about making sure your home, your business, your family, and your tenants have safe, reliable electrical service that supports the way you actually live and work. When everything is properly designed and installed, you don't have to think about it. That's the goal.

Direct communication. When you contact Ground Zero Electric, you're talking with the licensed electrician doing the work, not a sales rep handing you off. Questions get direct answers. Decisions get made.
Detailed estimates. Every estimate includes scope, inclusions, exclusions, qualifications, pricing, payment terms, and warranty. No vague proposals. No surprise change orders.
Permit and inspection discipline. Permitted work is permitted. Inspected work is inspected. Documentation is provided. Shortcuts that come back to bite homeowners and property owners later aren't part of how we work.
Honest assessments. Not every old panel needs immediate replacement. Not every home needs a service upgrade. Not every project needs the most expensive solution. We tell you what your situation actually requires, recommend honestly, and let you make informed decisions.
Workmanship warranty. Every installation backed by a workmanship warranty. Extended warranty coverage available on qualifying installations.
